Funciton, Gaming that is.

Starting funciton.net was a neccesary and logical step for me. I always wanted to launch a site similiar to this, but that idea got postponed way too often.

In my daily life i work as a software developer, consultant and coach focused on the field of rich internet applications. Although I’m enjoying this fascinating and challenging job for over a decade now, i find myself lost in thoughts about graphics programming, artificial intelligence and game-development related topics quite often. These are fields i don’t get in touch with as often as i’d like to in my normal job, which is more related to building frontends in enterprise environments.


So as a hobby – sounds strange, doesn’t it? a developer seeing programming as a hobby – i work on effects, ai-routines, state-machines, pathfinding, animations and so on and so forth. Over the years i put together quite a large collection of prototypes, tech-demos and game concepts and said to myself that i actually have to use some of that stuff to create entertaining games. This was years ago, but i finally pushed myself hard enough to make it happen. That is the main reason for the site you are browsing right now, funciton.net.


This is the stage for my upcoming projects as well as a place to host and/or support selected games from other producers and friends.
